Located at the halfway point on Wherryman’s Way, the mill and visitor centre will be an ideal stopping off point.

Nearest car parking is at Hardley Staithe.  From there walk up the footpath on the left hand side of the staithe.  Follow path along riverside until you reach the windmill (approx 1 mile).  At the moment this path is unsuitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.  The path will be improved as part of the river bank works on this section of the Yare.  Unfortunately this work has been put back and is not scheduled until 2011.  

There is no access to the mill by car (unless by prior arrangement).

 

Driving directions to Hardley Staithe.

From A146 —

Take exit signposted Chedgrave Langley (just before Loddon approaching from Norwich, or just after if approaching from Beccles).  Shortly after entering 30mph limit, the road bears right with a fork to the left.  Take this left fork.  Go straight ahead at cross road onto Hardley Road.  Follow this road right to the end.  Follow directions to Hardley Staithe, not Hardley. 

From Claxton -

Where road forks at Langley war memorial, go straight on.  Turn left at the T junction at end of Hardley Road onto Hardley St.  After 300 yds fork right onto Church Lane.  Turn left at T junction.
